DJ Stookin – Candy Crush (Fidget Black) Toolbox Digital Top 10

DJ Stookin hits Toolbox Digital Top 10 with Candy Crush

Massive respect to our good friend DJ Stookin (aka Lee Strachan) for flying the Fidget Black flag high. His latest Hard House release Candy Crush, released on Fidget Black, has just landed in the Toolbox Digital Top 10 — sitting proud at #9 in the chart.

We caught up with Lee via remote studio session to talk about the release and his long-standing connection with Fidget Studios.

Hi Lee, first of all congratulations on the track! How does that feel?
It feels really good thanks! I’ve known Barry for a number of years now and we’ve done quite a few tracks together. It’s great to have this one out on Fidget!

Tell us a bit about you?
My name is Lee Strachan and I live in a small village called Kemnay in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. I’m married with a son and have been DJing for 24 years while producing for 13 years.

Candy Crush — tell us about the track?
The track is a remake of one of my all-time favourite house tracks from 1995 by the Candy Girls. I hope I’ve done it justice!

What are your musical influences?
I’ve been musically influenced by Carl Cox, Bass Generator, BK, Barry Diston and Nick Sentience.

When are you at your most creative?
I’m most creative when I’m in the studio — or I’ll hear something random like a sound from a TV advert, someone whistling at a bus stop, or a seagull attacking my wife’s car wipers!

Anything lined up in the future?
I’m looking forward to putting out more music. I’ve got a strong follow-up in the pipeline that’s currently in the works at the studio.

We’ve had a sneak peek at what’s coming next — but our lips are sealed for now. In the meantime, turn it up and enjoy Candy Crush, available on all major platforms now.
